Earn Extra Revenue With Your Content
Earn more revenue with our music in your short-form content!

How It Works
Ever wonder why you can use a Taylor Swift song on a Youtube Short or TikTok with no copyright issues? Unlike with long videos, platforms pay the musical artists royalties whenever their song is used in short-form content.
Here's where we come in—we create custom music for your short-form content. Each time your short is viewed, a royalty is paid to us for the music. We then collect the royalties and pay you a split. The more views, the more royalties!

What You Need
You'll need a Youtube, TikTok, Meta or IG account creating original short-form content with at least 2 million average monthly views.
Send us a reference track or melody and we'll make it from scratch, then publish it on the platforms for you to use!

Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can you tell me more about Musical Squid?
We're a music agency that creates original music for your short-form content. We then collect royalties for our music your content is viewed, and split the revenue with you.
This does not affect your existing Adsense revenue and is a completely separate process. Any royalties you earn is in addition to what you're already making!
6) How many tracks will be created for me?
We start with one track for each creator, however more tracks can be created for you at a cost taken from the monthly royalties. This is important to pay our producers, mixing and master engineers, and instrumentalists that work with.
Upfront payment is never required.
3) How much is my split from the revenue?
This depends on your channel, views and demographic. Generally, we guarantee a split that pays you more than any other competitor agencies on the market.
The average RPM (revenue per 1000 views) for our existing creators with Youtube Shorts ranges from $0.10 USD to as high as $0.70 USD.
4) How long does it take to receive my payout?
Generally, Youtube Shorts pays out music licensing revenue at the end of the second month after your content is viewed. For example, if you upload a short on January 13th and January 27th with our music, Youtube will pay the music royalties to us for both shorts on March 31st.
Payment is then be sent to you within 7 days in USD via Paypal, Zelle, or bank transfer at no additional fee.
5) Can I use my custom track(s) on other projects?
Yes! Once the track is created, you are free to use it on any other personal projects as long as you do not profit from the track directly (such as re-selling or redistributing the track as a "beat" online).
Note that the track will only generate royalty revenue when used in short-form content.
7) How do I know this is legitimate?
We don't ask you for any upfront payment, nor to download any files. We're partnering with you to make music for your content, and also earn revenue through the streams. This is how musicians and artists are actively paid in the music industry!
You can learn more about how the music licensing payout structure works in the Youtube Shorts Monetization Policy outlined here.
2) How does the process work?
Apply through our application form or by emailing us at contact@musicalsquid.com. Once accepted, a partner manager will reach out to discuss the next steps about creating your personal music track.
Once completed, the track will be uploaded to the music library on each app. You then upload your content using the app and select our track in the library. We'll collect the music royalties and pay you shortly after.
